Flight of the Fancy

luggage tagsShopping for a Glam Globetrotter on your list? Flight001 (pronounced Flight One) is the Marc Jacobs of fashion, the Starwood of the hotel industry the Max Brenner of chocolate… and a one-stop shop for glam travel gifts this holiday season.

Just as it’s described on its fashion-forward website, Flight001 is a “Jet Setter’s dream: An all-inclusive, design forward retail experience that satisfies the modern traveler’s every need.” You can visit one of their posh digs in Berkeley, Los Angeles, Chicago, New York City or Brooklyn — or buy anything they sell online at www.flight001.com.

If you’re familiar with the brand, you already know what I’m talking about. If not, pay attention. You’ll be hooked. From practical to posh, here are several of my favorites for the savvy sojourner on your list this holiday season:

*Chic passport covers with sayings such as “I love not camping” for $17,  or sophisticated patterns such as a posh Parisian map for $18.

*Retro “Born to be Wild” luggage tag for the unbeatable bargain of $10; the perfect stocking stuffer for the fun and fearless female on your list.

*A simple, compact world travel adapter to make sure you’re blowout is bouncy whether you’re in Belgium or Botswana; $38.

*Carry-on leopard suitcase by Hideo Wakamatsu; $220. Only spring for this stunner if you want to see and be seen. This 20″ trolley (which is on my list this year) will definitely diminish your chances of traveling incognito.

*Gorgeous silk sleep mask; $22 and reusable ear plugs; $6 this pretty and practical combo will allow you to tune out, and make you think you’re in first class — even if you’re in  36B.

Happy shopping!
